A bucket list of nearby beaches made by locals! Vol II

Let's continue from where we left off our previous bucket list of beaches close to Athens. Cape Sounion is must visit area during your visit to Athens. The rocky promontory rises from the Aegean blue, adding to the majestic landscape. On top, you ‘ll find the awe-inspiring Temple of Poseidon, constructed by Persians in 600 BC. The temple was rebuilt by Pericles around 440 BC. Just an hour away from the temple, the area features lovely beaches to enjoy a day under the sun!
If you are seeking for an unspoilt beach near Athens, then Legrena beach will fascinate you. Totally unorganized, the beach is surrounded by rocks, shaping a charming cove. The waters are quite cold sometimes while in the broader area you ‘ll find cafes and restaurants to recharge your batteries after a long day on the beach. Legrena is located sixty kilometers southeast of Athens and three kilometers away from Sounion Cape.
Porto Rafti is an excellent choice for those that are on the hunt for a slice of paradise near Athens. The coastal settlement is very popular due to its crystal waters and the astonishing array of amenities. During summer, the area becomes quite crowded as Athenians choose this magnificent destination to take a break after a long day at work. Situated only thirty-five kilometers southeast of the city, Port Rafti also showcases a small port for those that enjoy their holidays on board.
Loutsa is the beach closest to the town, just thirty kilometers away from Athens. Due to its close proximity, the beach is packed with people, thus making the waters unappealing for swimming. But you can visit the area -especially at night- to lounge in the cafes and bars or taste the mouthwatering seafood.
